Dr. Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Reed College and his PhD in biochemistry from Loma Linda University. While serving as an assistant professor at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS), Dr. Thompson graduated magna cum laude with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He was called back to academia and served as the department chair, and later, as the director of student learning outcomes at SCUHS.
In 2013, Dr. Thompson joined Sonoran University, where he has served in a variety of different roles, including Professor and Dean of Instruction, Vice President of Academic Affairs and chief academic officer.
He has authored more than 40 research papers, studies and poster presentations and has presented on the topics of preparing for accreditation and cultivating excellence to nutritional therapies and enhancing provider self-care practices to achieve health behavior change in patients.
